McDonald’s Shrek Glass Recalled

Recently, McDonald’s - one of the most popular fast food restaurant in the world – recalled one of their promotional products, the Shrek glasses. And these Shrek-themed glasses were recalled by McDonald’s because of one thing, the glasses contain Cadmium.
So, what is Cadmium? And why McDonald’s recalled Shrek glasses?Well, Cadmium is a hazardous metal associated with different industrial processes such as metal plating, production of batteries, plastics and more. And inhalation of cadmium-containing fumes can result in to fever and can progress up to chemical pneumonitis, pulmonary edema or even death.
You read it right. Shrek Glasses from McDonald’s can cause illness that can also be turned in to death. Right now, reports said that over 12 million cheap U.S.-made collectibles were recalled by McDonald’s which were sold $2 each.

I’d just like to point out the fact that everyone seems to fail to mention that the amount of cadmium in the shreck glasses is so low that they almost did not have to recall them.
