Apple fanatics has been criticizing the country of Israel after it as announced that iPad, Apple’s newest gadget, would be banned form their country. It has been so because according to Israel authorities, the device’s Wifi standards didn’t match theirs. The device was just released April of this year and has reached enormous sales. The news about the ban came out at about mid-part of the same month. If you happen to travel to Israel and you’re going to bring you new iPad, it will then be confiscated by customs officials and you will be paying a daily storage fee at which point you can then collect it on your way out of the country.
There has been a face-face ‘intensive technical scrutiny’ done among Israel’s communication ministry, Apple’s team, International laboratory and European counterparts and has therefore confirmed that the device which could be operated in various standards will be operated in Israel in accordance to the local standards.
After the above mentioned critical analysis, Israel authorities decided to the ban only applies to iPads built for the American standard but would not apply to devices that match the European specifications. Israel’s Wifi standards is the same with Europe’s.
If you just have bought your new iPad and you are planning to travel to Israel now, worry no more because custom’s officials will no longer confiscate your most beloved iPad.
