Elon Musk Appoints a Woman to Head Twitter

Twitter owner Elon Musk has announced, without disclosing her name, that he has hired a woman to lead the social network.
“I am pleased to announce the appointment of a new General Manager for X/Twitter. She starts in 6 weeks! », The American billionaire said in a tweet.
Citing sources familiar with the matter, The Wall Street Journal understands the person involved is NBC Universal’s head of advertising Linda Yaccarino, who is in talks to become Twitter’s new CEO.
Musk indicated that after the appointment, he will serve as the group’s executive chairman and chief technology officer of the social network, overseeing products, software and operations.
The CEO of Tesla and SpaceX conducted a poll in December asking Twitter users whether they should leave the platform’s direction. About 17 million of them spoke with 57% in favor of his departure.
The entrepreneur has replaced the Californian group, with several waves of layoffs reducing his ranks to a bare minimum.
The San Francisco-based company, which derives most of its revenue from advertising, is on track to generate less than $3 billion in 2023 and $4.14 billion in 2022, or 28% less, according to Insider Intelligence.
